The Edge Cafe is the face of our organization. Serving locally sourced, handmade favourites, we are no fuss kind of people. The Cafe has only two rules.. Darn good food & top notch service. We are open for breakfast, brunch, & lunch 7 days a week. Our community is important to us, so we make a point of supporting local businesses. Serving 49th parallel coffee, we promise you'll leave happy... and well fed!
At Edge we care about our people, and our planet. As such, we operate a comprehensive sustainability program.
- We use eco-friendly, reusable baskets, platters, and biodegradable cutlery and paperware
- We installed pre rinse- low flow faucets that reduce water consumption by 75%
- we run a comprehensive recycling program and reduce printing costs whenever possible (please consider this before printing our menus!)
- we have a waste reduction composting program
- we encourage clients to use their own cutlery and plates whenever possible
Sustainability
People are the essence of our business, and our people are equally important to us. At Edge we have implemented numerous strategies to support and engage our community.
- We are members of the open door group, providing employment work experience to challenged individuals returning to the workforce after mental or physical trauma
- All foods not consumed after events are donated to local shelters
- We purchase locally grown produce and support BC suppliers and products whenever possible
Community
We serve the ever delicious 49th Parallel coffee. A locally roasted, fair trade, organic coffee that is quite honestly, the best coffee in Canada. 49th Parallel master roasters travel the world to find the best of the best, the result... well, you'll have to come in and try it for yourself. click here for more info.
